Back to reality..

I live for the weekends.  I love to be home with my son and my hubby.  I love waking up on Saturdays and just stay in bed and watch cartoons without having to rush to get ready for work and school.  I actually love the weekends  so much that I wrote a post about why I love Saturdays, you can read it here.  Anyways,  the one thing that I hate about the weekend though, especially a long weekend, is the fact that I have to mentally prepare for Monday.

After a long weekend,  preparing for Monday is always difficult.  Its like when you go on vacation for a few days; the whole routine goes out the window. You wake up later, eat breakfast later, you do everything at your own pace and at your own time, but then its time to go home. I have that same feeling on Sunday, every Sunday. This Sunday was no different.

I rewind back to Wednesday night, I was so happy that Thanksgiving was the next day.  I was excited about hosting my very first Thanksgiving at my house.  I actually cooked, yes I cooked ( I don't really enjoy cooking), but that will be a topic for a different post.  I was looking forward to cooking with my mom. We even  watched food network to get inspired.  Needless to say that Thanksgiving was a complete success. I also wrote a post about that, you can read that one here.

Now that's all in the past, its time to mentally prepare for Monday, the routine, the commute, the picking up and dropping off and everything in between.  I think this post was my way of preparing for Monday this week. What do you do to get over the Sunday blues?.  Remember, sharing is caring.

Here is to having a productive week!

Hi I'm a new visitor and follower! I saw you commented on The Young Mommy's most recent post and wanted to check out your blog!
Giiirl, are you living in my brain? lol. This is exactly how I felt yesterday, today, and like you said every Sunday! And this Monday was esp difficult because it was a long weekend due to the Holiday. Ugh. But I definetly love writing on Monday to help me de-stress and get back on track. It's so easy to be so negative on Mondays, so I try really really hard to be positive and listen to uplifting music to get me through the day...even though I'm just counting down the hours until I can pick my daughter up at school and relax at home. To do it all again on Tuesday!lol

I hope your Monday morning was a success Alex. Right now I don't do anything different because Im enjoying being a SAHM but . . . after like 8 months of this going back to school in January is going to be H-A-R-D I'm sure! I don't even know what to do to prepare!

Although I can definitely remember this feeling, I can no longer relate to it. Our lifestyle has drastically changed over the last year or so. I no longer look forward to weekends as a welcome break from the usual school week. I no longer need to mentally prepare myself for the week ahead. Homeschooling, I guess, provides us with that luxury.
Thats not to say that its without its own set of "feelings" though! :) Believe me, it does.

I hope you had a great Monday!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I love new visitors and I'm your newest follower.

Today was so hard for me to kickstart back into my regular routine. This "mini" vacation from work was so wonderful and it actually felt long, not rushed like most holidays. I was so sad to see it go, but only 4 more weeks until Christmas!

Alex,

Funny, I love Sundays. Sunday's is brunch day, it's the one day a week we get to indulge, try a new restaurant. Walk around the neighborhood, check out what's happening at the mall, before coming home to watch endless hours of football, for Kim and for me reading in bed. We don't go out much, we're on a tight tight budget.

And right now, I'm working from home so I just to do all my Monday blahs on Monday.

See ya,
E
