Trips to the doctor's appointments were the absolute worse. Everyone knows that when you are going to the doctor, that means you are going to be there awhile,it really doesn't matter what time your appointment was. So, I would need to pack to go to the doctor's appointment. A little sample of what I would pack would go something like this: Extra diapers, extra milk, extra toys, blanket, clothes, pacifiers you get my point. This of course is not including things that did not go in the bag, but were a necessity like the stroller.
So, over the weekend we decided to take our son to the park. I should mention that the last time we took him to the park, he was still potty training, so I was still carrying around a pull up along with an extra pair of pants and underwear. I got myself ready, got him ready and then I went for the diaper bag. At that very moment, I realized that I didn't need it. It was a great moment.
At same time , I looked over at my son as he was trying to put on his shoes all by himself and trying to put on his pants all by himself and realized that he is a big boy and he is growing up way too fast.
When did you realize that your baby is not a baby anymore? I've had quite a few of these moments lately. Could the fact that his turning 3 next month have anything to do with it? maybe, but that's a whole other post.

Thanks for the comment Rachel :)
I have 4 kiddos...so I know all too clearly how quickly they grow up! DOn't rush it..but it is nice when you are out of diapers...until you realize that they are growing up :(
Yes, I agree with you Crystal.. I love and hate it at the same time :(
I have a 3yr old and I can remember the day I did a happy dance when she stopped wearing diapers! Not only did I not have to change another diaper, but the money you save!!
Ross- Its amazing!! Thank you for your comment!
Girl, isn't it funny that we want them to grow up and be independent, but then when we realize that it is actually happening -- like, they are ACTUALLY being more independent -- we're like, "hold on, where'd my baby go?!"
I can totally relate. When I look at my son get dressed by himself (for the most part), all I can do is sit back, smile, and fight back tears. Tears of joy of how amazingly beautiful he is growing. It's a great feeling. One that I'm sure you've experienced with your little man.
I am a total over packer too. When my son was younger I would carry a back pack instead of a diaper bag because I carried so much stuff. Now that he is 5 I don't carry anything : ) I have been seeing my son in that "he is no longer a baby" light too. He is just getting so tall and while I love seeing him grow up I hate that it is going by so fast.
I love your commnets thank you ladies!
I don't have kids, but I have one nephew that I love to pieces. I realized he was turning into a big boy one day when I was watching him and we ordered a pizza. He put his hand on my face and gently said, Aunt Karen, I don't want vegetables like you do. They're gross.
