Common Courtesy..not so Common

I know most, if not all of you have heard this before "common courtesy is not so common". why is that? why do people look at you like you have spinach in your teeth when you say Good Morning or Good afternoon.
This  happens all the time and it happened to me this morning.

I walk into the elevator getting ready to go up to the office and its full.. I was the last one to get in and  I say "Good Morning".... Can you believe not one person said it back!!.. Not one!! and not only that, but one lady looked at me like " how dare she say good morning to me.. don't you  know I am having a bad day".Well I'm sorry  that you are not having a good morning geesh! I think if people were a little nicer.. just a little the world would be a better place. I know some people say" well I'm not a morning person" and to those people I say I'm sorry you're not a morning person, but one thing has nothing to do with the other.

So people, be nice. Say good morning or good afternoon. You don't want to come across as rude. Remember it only takes a second to make a "great first impression and a life time to change it".. is that how the saying goes??.. if not, you know what I mean.
